Marketing Campaign of the Kings speech

Momentum pictures disturbed the film and also created a marketing plan and marketed the film to the UK audiences. It was also through word of mouth that has been said through the press .The trailers are also part of the marketing campaigns it shows different ascepts of the film and also appeals to audiences who enjoy watching movies associated with past Royal people .
The film was promoted through the films studio's feeds and pages , it had plenty of updates about the movie including the usual notes about the movies marketing and also their puiblicity .Colin flirth spoke to the British stammering association about his role of a king who has to overcome his stammering . Both Colin flirth and Tom hooper (director) did an intreview with the online site Den of Geek .
It will appeal to audiences who enjoy period dramas such as this and those who enjoy everything to do with royal people .Possibly older people and parents who will be accomnpanying their children as the movie is a 12A.
The movie was released in cinemas on the 7th January 2011 in the uk , 24 december 2010 in the USA.

Evaluation of powerpoint

My group and I were given a powerpoint to do on Mobile phones in the film industry. We all contributed  towards the powerpoint , giving our ideas and what we had thought about each question.
On the day of the presentation we were each all ready and prepared , one of our group members wasnt in so we planned out that the each of us would say more than what we had planned before. I think our presentation went well , we all said and went to according to what we had written own to say.
I think i could of improved more by making a better script than just saying most things that we had on the powerpoint. We also should of show this video that we were  su pposed to show --------  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNMWgmvdLws

Production Issues of case studies of the Kings speech

The Kings speech is a hybrid it contists of genres :

Biography
Historical
Drama

The target audience is people who like the history of the royals , maybe older people , as there grandpa's and grandmothers probably heard stories which they told their grandchildren.
It exceeded Momentum Picture's expectations when it gained £3.52 million on the opening weekend which is almost double the opening gross of Slumdog Millionaire at £1.83m
See-Saw, a British/Australian company, financed and produced the film by getting deals with key distribution partners - The Weinstein Company (USA) Momentum Pictures (UK) Transmission (Australia) and Alliance Film (Canada).
The use of big name stars is a large part of the appeal to films and that also is very expensive. So although the digital revolution has change and given the British film industry opportunities film makers are still restricted by costs of marketing and distribution, and also the ability to make a film with wide appeal with blockbuster stars.

Analysis of my Questionnaire

I conducted a questionnaire to find out how people watch films .I asked questions like 'how do you watch films ' and 'what are the genre of the films'.
The results were really intereseting i found out that most females in my class prefer rom-ccom movies aswell as watching films in the cinema or on DVD.While most males prefered watching action movies aswell watching movies on the internet. i also found that most people watch films differently than when they younger , with 80% saying that they used watch films in the cinema and 20% saying they watch films on videos.
